Only for the sure-footed....

Walking has become more of a challenge, at times, for the past 3 weeks. During that time we've had snow sandwiched in between sunny days, but the challenge is not the snow, rather the ice which results. When streets and sidewalks are not shoveled, which is often the case, the few inches of snow gets trampled down to a hard-pack, becoming quite slippery when it begins to warm a little. And if melting sets in during the day, the water turns to ice during the cold nights. Roads and walkways can become one continuous sheet of ice, or close to that. I've heard of Blizzak tires (a special brand for icy conditions) and maybe that's the kind of shoes we need here! So far, I've managed to stay on my two feet.

Not a bad idea, Shirley. I might be able to get rich selling them, in fact!
