All Google blogs have been inaccessible in China since May. Please go to http://jiminchina.livejournal.com if you want to continue tracking my adventure here in this great country.
It was a Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008, this journey began. (Actually it began the previous year when I visited China on tour and the seeds were planted.) There I lay in bed contemplating the big lull in my life, a lull that had been stretching into months, with no end in sight. I was becoming increasingly aimless, unsure of myself and of the ministry to men I had been developing. At times I was feeling depressed.
I've come to believe that to a certain extent our lives are what we chose them to be, and as I lay there I decided I was going to do something to end this lull, at least for the time being. Two options came to mind. The second one, teaching English in China, was the one that really got my attention the more I thought about it. The rest is history. My life very quickly turned from wondering what I could do to keep me occupied, to wondering if I would keep up with everything that needed to be done!
It's interesting that this moment of decision came during a 21-day Prayer Focus I had engaged in as another way to deal with the lull. I was looking for some kind of breakthrough - could this have been a moment from God!
Since that morning in October I have been making arrangements to teach English at HUST (Harbin University of Science and Technology) during 2009. Check out Harbin info below.
